Since 1988 comes August West Belfast is transforming itself into a colored mixture of community festival, international culture and music festival with artist from allover the world and political events on conflict resolution in Ireland and elsewhere. West Belfast is the biggest Irish community in Belfast, politically it has a huge Irish-Republican majority with Gerry Adams being elected with almost 70% of the votes.
After the breaktrough in the peace process, the agreement of Sinn Féin and DUP to build a government together from May 8th, 2007 on, the festival will be dominated by this enormeous political progress. We will join the festival with a German delegation from 6.-10. August 2007. We will participate in the festival and organize talks with political parties, activists and community groups.
